Alloy Industrial
Contractors, Inc. was founded in 1957 by Frank P. MacMillan under
the name of Weld Alloy Service Company. A few years later the name
was changed to Alloy Welding Service. The company began as a small
welding and repair shop which proved to be both ideal in timing and
beneficial in financial terms. It was a post-World War II period
of growth and development on all fronts: residential, commercial
and industrial. With the growth of the Coastal Empire, the company
kept growing. The small welding repair business expanded into the
industrial repair market during the 60's, progressed to mechanical
piping and heavy industrial fabrication in the early 70's and emerged as
a general contractor with a very strong specialty fabrication and
machine tool base in the late 70's and early 80's.
In May 1974, the company was incorporated and the name
was changed to Alloy Welding, Inc. In April 1988 the company name
was changed again to its current name, Alloy Industrial Contractors,
Inc., which reflected more accurately the nature of the business.
It is still a family owned and operated business with Danny MacMillan at
the helm as President, Frances MacMillan Martin, Vice-President, Linda
Brabham MacMillan, Chief Financial Officer and Bill MacMillan as Project
Manager.
Today Alloy's fabrication shop capabilities include all
types of pipefitting, sheetmetal work, forming of materials into cones
and cylinders, rolling of pipes, angle iron and shapes. These
facilities are available to customers on a priority basis in any
emergency, regardless of the hour. The company offers its clients
a very high degree of technical expertise based upon a cadre of
skilled craftsmen and experienced supervisors.
Alloy field crews have a proven
track record of accomplishments in the major industrial plants located
in the southeast. They are experienced in high pressure steam, gas
and fuel piping, structural steel, concrete work, tank fabrication, pump
foundation, demolition, metal and plate work to name a few.
Alloy Industrial Contractors, Inc.
is authorized by the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and
NBIC (National Boiler Inspection Code) to perform repairs and
fabrication of pressure vessels and high pressure piping systems.
The company has the U, PP and R Stamps. All Code work is done
under strict Quality Control Manual Guidelines. The company's
welders are currently qualified to Section 9 of the ASME Code and have
been qualified to Military Standard 248C. It also has the DOT
(Department of Transportation) certifiction to do repair work to any
over-the-road tanker truck and perform Cargo Tank Inspections.
Some of our past projects were
performed under an established MIL-I-45208 QA System approved by the U S
Government. We can provide turnkey projects that include ILS,
SDRL's Level 3 Drawings, Design Engineering, Shock and Vibration and
Tech Manuals.
Additionally, the company's
welders and mechanics are highly skilled technicians in exotic alloys
such as copper-nickel, inconel, monel, S/S, titanium, nickel aluminum
bronze, and high nickel based alloys including C-276 and C-22. The
company operates under an extensive Loss Control Program prepared by a
CSP (Certified Safety Professional). It also has a written
Hazard Communication Program as well as a Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
Some of its personnel are trained as excavation and trenching
specialists under strict OSHA guidelines.
Alloy Industrial Contractors, Inc.
has developed a multi-faceted operational capacity in practically every
area of metal fabrication, pipefitting and welding. The company
has attracted the loyalty of a vast number of businesses, industries and
